Harry Burgess - P.Eng

Mr. Burgess is a mining engineer and founding partner of Micon International Limited, one of Canada's largest independent mineral industry consultants.  Prior to joining Micon, he held senior positions in the copper industry of Zambia and gold mining in South Africa.  In Zambia, he held management positions with both technical and production responsibility. In South Africa, Mr. Burgess was responsible for the introduction of mechanized mining systems to the gold mines of Anglo-American Corporation in the Orange Free State. Representative of Mr. Burgess' work was his managerial engagement for a team of consultants in the review of the Lihir gold project, Papua New Guinea, on behalf of a syndicate of financing banks and institutions arranging an initial public float.  The financing involved US$300 million of debt and US$450 million of equity. Mr. Burgess managed the ongoing monitoring of this project on behalf of the syndication of lending banks.
 

Dr. Allen Born - Ph.D

Dr. Born has extensive experience as a senior mining corporate executive. Previously, he was Co-Chairman of Cyprus Amax Minerals Company and Chairman and CEO of Alumax Inc., the former third largest US aluminum company with annual revenues of $2.7 billion, until it was taken over by Alcoa.  Prior to that, Dr. Born was Chairman, President and CEO of AMAX Inc.  In 1993, he engineered the breakup of AMAX Inc. in which the common shares of Alumax were distributed to the AMAX Inc. shareholders and the non-aluminum assets were merged with Cyprus Minerals on a 50-50 basis.  From 1981 to 1985, he was President, CEO and Chairman of Placer Dome Inc., formerly one of the world's largest gold producers until it was acquired by Barrick Gold. Currently, Dr. Born is Chairman of Born Investments, LLC focusing on mining, technology, pipeline, oil and gas ventures. Dr. Born has won numerous accolades: in 1986, 1991 and 1992, he was named Mining Industry CEO of the year by Financial World Magazine; in 1987, he received the Golden Nugget Award for professional accomplishment from the University of Texas at El Paso; in 1990 the Wall Street Transcript named him CEO of the Year in the aluminum industry and he also received the Business Leadership Award from the Citizens Union of New York City; and in 1992, the Colorado School of Mines awarded him an Honorary Doctorate of Engineering.
